Starboard’s VIVA returns for 2027 with a second-generation design focused on greater drive, lift and control. The refined shape is stiffer, faster and more responsive, while retaining the direct feel that defines the VIVA.

The range is offered in two constructions: the ultra-light H2 Reflex for riders chasing maximum response, and the versatile Carbon Frame for accessible all-round performance.

H2 Reflex: light, crisp and responsive

The H2 Reflex uses Starboard’s second generation woven Ultra-PE technology. At 85 GSM, the material is 30% lighter than the previous Ho‘okipa construction, with twice the Ultra-PE content and a new tri-axial layup. The tighter weave is designed to reduce unwanted stretch and spring rapidly back into shape under load.

“More lift, more front hand pull and an insane boost in stiffness and response — the new 2027 VIVA H2 Reflex is my new weapon of choice for everything from freestyle, to waves, to nuking big air.”

— Xavi Corr

Carbon Frame: versatile all-round performance

The Carbon Frame construction combines a proven 160 GSM HTD Dacron airframe with integrated Carbon Frame UD stringers. The result is a boost in stiffness with minimal additional weight or cost, creating a rigid and accessible option for a broad range of riders.

A more direct connection

Both constructions use the new Tool-Free Anchor Boom system. It replaces screws with a secure Dyneema connection, making setup more convenient while preserving an exceptionally direct and rigid feel.
