Use of shims & relativity.

No shim equates to -1 deg relative to the fuselage, 1x red shim = 0 deg relative to the fuselage, 1x blue shim = neg 1/2 deg relative to fuselage.

Armstrong foils front wings have approx. -1 deg angle relative to the fuselage.

Therefore the offset between front and rear wing is the actual relationship of ride quality.

Armie summerises that the greater the offset between front wing and tail wing provides more drag and more pitch stability for the foil ride quality. Using no shim would give an offset of 2, (tail -1 to fuselage and front wing +1 to fuselage) the most stable setting. 1 blue shim (+ 0.5deg) reduces offset to 1.5, using 1 red shim reduces offset to 1, 1 red and 1 blue reduces offset to 0.5 deg and 2 red shims reduces the offset to 0 degrees between front and rear wings giving the fastest and most unstable foil quality.
