Starboard TallTwin SUP: Longboard SUP with TwinFin speed

6 Oct 2026 News

The Starboard TallTwin is a SUP surf longboard built with a TwinFin tail. Longboard glide and nose riding, with the speed and looseness of a twin fin setup.

Co-designer Ollie O’Reilly takes you through the new TallTwin, the latest addition to the Starboard wave lineup. The TallTwin pairs the length, glide and nose riding of a Longboard with the tail, channel and fin setup of the TwinFin. The result is a board that carves long lines, lets you walk to the nose, and still turns fast and loose when you come back to the tail.

The TallTwin does not replace the Longboard. The Longboard gives you drive and control on the nose through its center fin. The TallTwin brings more speed and looseness through turns. Each board has its place.

The TallTwin was unveiled at LSR 2026 in Bali, where the team rode it for the first time and took three gold medals. After three prototypes and test trips in Thailand and Portugal, the final shape feels shorter than it is and easy to bring around, from small mushy days to overhead surf.

What you’ll learn:
→ How the TallTwin compares to the Starboard Longboard
→ How the center channel, thin tail rails and moon tail create speed and instant rail response
→ Twin setup or twin plus Nubster: which fin setup suits your riding
→ The two constructions: Carbon Reflex and Xtec Carbon
→ The four sizes, from 9’8″ (145L) down to 9’0″ x 25.5″
