The Cabrinha Vision XL 2027 is a light-wind-specific wing created for riders who want to make practical use of marginal conditions. Offered in 6.5 and 7.5 square metre sizes, it develops the familiar Vision platform around fuller wingtip profiles, dedicated low-wind aerodynamics and carefully controlled canopy tension. The purpose is straightforward: generate useful low-end drive, help the board release and foil earlier, and keep the wing manageable when the breeze is inconsistent.
Light-wind design
Cabrinha gives the Vision XL a compact aspect ratio, high dihedral and swept tips. The fuller tip sections contribute power and forward drive, while the raised dihedral and swept outline are intended to keep the tips clear of the water during starts. This geometry is particularly relevant in the larger sizes, where tip clearance and visibility can otherwise become limiting factors. The manufacturer also tunes the canopy for a clean, efficient shape in threshold wind rather than prioritising the extreme top end of the range.
Compared with the standard Vision, the XL uses profiles designed to create more power and drive at the bottom of the wind range. Cabrinha positions it as the more specialised option for flat-water light-wind locations and riders seeking additional time on the water. Controls and visibility
A rigid single boom gives the rider one continuous gripping area for sheeting and hand changes. Keylock angled attachment points index the boom against the strut to prevent rotation at the connections, supporting a direct relationship between hand movement and wing response. At the leading edge, a rigid front handle is intended to give precise control when the wing is flagged out.
The TruView infill panel uses mesh to expand the field of view while retaining support across the centre of the canopy.
