Ozone has built its reputation on producing beautifully refined products, and the Flow V2 continues that tradition. It’s designed primarily as a freeride and wave wing, where balance, manoeuvrability and drift take priority over outright speed. If your idea of a great session is carving waves, free-flying swell and linking smooth transitions rather than racing upwind at every opportunity, this is exactly the type of wing Ozone has set out to build.
Straight out of the bag, the first thing that stands out is the canopy tension. It’s beautifully clean, with barely a wrinkle anywhere across the profile, immediately giving the impression of a wing that’s been carefully engineered. The construction follows the same philosophy. Ozone has used a combination of Teijin 5x5 and 3x3 ripstop materials to help the canopy maintain its shape over time, while the new carbon boom provides a solid, direct connection without adding unnecessary complexity. The horizontal panel layout keeps the centre of the canopy clean, while the revised trailing edge uses small battens to control flutter without adding excess weight.
The overall build is refreshingly simple. There are no oversized reinforcements or unnecessary mouldings, just a lightweight, thoughtfully constructed wing that feels every bit as refined as you’d expect from Ozone. Sizes: 2.4, 3, 3.6, 4.3, 5 and 5.7m
On The Water
What impressed me most about the Flow V2 was how quickly I stopped thinking about it. That’s probably the highest compliment you can pay a wave wing because when you’re riding swell, the last thing you want is a wing demanding your attention. Instead, the Flow V2 simply sits where you put it, allowing you to focus on reading the wave rather than constantly managing the canopy.
That balanced feel starts the moment you sheet in. Power delivery is smooth and predictable, with comfortable hand pressure that never becomes tiring. It’s not the fastest wing in Ozone’s range, and it isn’t designed to be. Instead, it delivers clean, usable power that gets you up onto the foil easily before settling into a wonderfully neutral feel once you’re riding.
Transitions are another real highlight. Whether tacking, gybing or throwing more technical manoeuvres, the Flow V2 moves effortlessly through the wind window. The combination of the balanced boom position and positive lift overhead makes handling feel incredibly natural, and it’s one of those wings that almost encourages you to keep practising new moves because everything feels so intuitive.
Wave riding is where the Flow V2 really comes into its own. Flagged out on the front handle, it drifts beautifully and feels remarkably light. Testing it in the onshore conditions of Hood River, where the wing is constantly involved in the ride, really highlighted how well balanced it is. It floated effortlessly and never got in the way, allowing me to concentrate on connecting turns rather than worrying about where the wing was. In many ways, it simply disappeared, which is exactly what you want from a dedicated wave and free-fly wing.
That doesn’t mean it’s lacking performance. It still drives upwind well, generates plenty of power and carries speed efficiently, but compared with something like Ozone’s Flux, the emphasis is clearly different. The Flow V2 is about comfort, control and manoeuvrability rather than squeezing every last degree of upwind angle or chasing maximum speed. If outright performance is your priority, Ozone already has wings designed for that. The Flow V2 knows exactly what it wants to be, and it sticks to that brief exceptionally well.
There is a small amount of movement from the trailing edge when riding powered, but it’s quiet and unobtrusive. If anything, it helps the wing regulate itself when flagged out, contributing to the incredibly composed drift that defines its character. Combined with the excellent boom, comfortable ergonomics and beautifully balanced handling, the whole package feels incredibly polished.
Overall
The Flow V2 isn’t trying to be the fastest wing on the beach, and that’s exactly why it works so well.
Everything about the design has been focused on creating a wing that feels balanced, intuitive and almost invisible once you’re riding. The beautifully tensioned canopy, lightweight construction, excellent boom and superb drift all combine to produce a wing that lets you forget about what’s in your hands and simply enjoy the session.
If your riding revolves around waves, free-fly sessions and effortless handling, the Flow V2 is an outstanding choice. Ozone has produced a beautifully refined freeride and wave wing that does exactly what its name suggests, allowing you to slip into your own flow and simply enjoy every ride.
