Hybrid airframe and reduced profile

Aluula is used throughout the strut and in central leading-edge panels, where the frame experiences the most important steering and pumping loads. The surrounding structure uses 125g Performance Dacron, which is lighter than standard Dacron and allows controlled flex around the stiffer Aluula sections. Ozone says this arrangement gives the wing a direct connection, stronger drive when pumping in light wind and better resistance to canopy deformation in gusts without making the entire airframe uniformly rigid.

The leading edge and strut have smaller diameters than those of the standard Flow V2. Reduced frontal area is intended to lower drag, increase flight speed and initiate turns more rapidly. Tip diameters are scaled particularly aggressively through the sizes up to 4.3m, helping pressure release during manoeuvres and keeping the wing easy to redirect. At 4.3m, the Ultra-X weighs 2.25kg compared with the standard Flow V2’s published 2.67kg, a reduction of roughly 14 percent. Canopy structure and control

The canopy uses Teijin TechnoForce 5×5 ripstop over its main area and 3×3 ripstop in selected high-load front panels. The 5×5 weave is intended to resist diagonal stretch and maintain the designed shape, while the 3×3 panels tune flex and load distribution. Horizontal panels align material orientation with the main loads, and the Direct Connect strut transfers those loads into the leading edge through internal and external reinforcement. Overlap flat seams, reinforced leading-edge and strut zones, a Dyneema-supported trailing edge and low-profile scuff pads address durability without adding unnecessary bulk.

Rigid anti-flap battens help control trailing-edge movement, and windows on either side of the strut maintain downwind visibility. The bladders are produced in-house with extra material in likely wear zones. Separate Fast Flow valves support rapid inflation and deflation of the main frame and strut.

Zero-play boom and supplied equipment

The Flow V2 Ultra-X uses Ozone’s rigid carbon boom system. A stitched-in base plate is designed to prevent span-wise and chord-wise movement, creating an immediate response when the rider changes hand pressure. The boom has a textured EVA grip and an integrated soft bumper that protects the board and rider while permitting a natural pistol-grip hold. Longer boom lengths use a higher carbon grade so the control feel remains consistent from the smallest through the largest sizes.

The leading-edge surf handle is padded for comfort when the wing is flagged out. Ultra-X equipment includes a padded waist belt with sliding hook, a fixed-loop single-attachment harness line and a sand bag. A swivel leash keeps the connection from twisting, while wrist-strap and quick-release arrangements remain optional. The technical bag provides an internal pocket, external pump holder, padded shoulder strap and space for transporting the wing.

Sizes and specifications

Six sizes are offered: 2.4, 3, 3.6, 4.3, 5 and 5.7 square metres. Their published weights are 1.64kg, 1.85kg, 2.04kg, 2.25kg, 2.56kg and 2.68kg. Each size uses ten cells. Projected area ranges from 2.33 to 5.33 square metres, projected aspect ratio varies from 2.38 to 2.31, and flat aspect ratio is 2.29 on the four smaller sizes and 2.25 on the 5m and 5.7m. Ozone’s wind-range guidance assumes an average 80kg rider and remains indicative because rider skill, board and foil choice materially affect the usable range.
