The 2026 Duotone Float SLS is a lightweight wave and freefly wing built around a PentaTX leading edge and strut. It sits above the standard Float in material specification, using a 135 g PentaTX frame to reduce weight and increase stiffness while retaining the same wave-focused purpose. Duotone states that this material offers five times the tear resistance and 50% less elongation than its standard 160 g Dacron reference. Combined with a smaller leading-edge diameter, the construction is intended to reduce drag and produce a more immediate connection between rider input and wing response.
Wave-oriented profile
A low sweep angle and forward-positioned profile define the Float SLS layout. The draft is intended to remain stable while the wing delivers smooth, slightly front-handed power, giving the rider a consistent reference through the front hand. Lower-angle wingtips support drift and help the wing remain elevated while it is flagged out. These details are designed for riders who want to depower the wing and concentrate on a wave or swell line without repeatedly correcting its position.
The Float SLS also uses a reduced leading-edge diameter to lower drag, particularly when travelling into the wind on a wave. Duotone links the refined shape with improved top-end performance and more effective upwind and downwind angles. Power delivery is deliberately smooth rather than abrupt, with predictable sheeting intended to retain control when the wind varies. A wide, stiff leading-edge handle provides direct steering when the wing is held by the front handle during freefly sections.
Minimal control layout
This model has no windows and is designed exclusively for the Fusion boom. The minimalist arrangement removes the weight and complexity of multiple control formats, but the boom is not included and must be purchased separately. Small, medium and large boom lengths are assigned by wing size: 72 cm for the 2.0, 84 cm for the 2.5 and 3.0, and 96 cm from 3.5 to 5.5. Six canopy battens are fitted throughout the range, with 15 cm battens up to 4.5 and 20 cm battens on the 5.0 and 5.5.
Canopy and frame construction
The MOD3 S canopy is used for direct power transfer, strength and durability. Its structure works with the PentaTX frame to create the lighter and stiffer SLS package. The absence of windows and the boom-only format further reduce overall weight. Published weights without the boom begin at 1.21 kg for the 2.0 and rise to 2.10 kg for the 5.5, which keeps every listed size comparatively light while retaining a full inflatable frame.
Sizes and operating range
Eight sizes span 2.0 to 5.5 square metres. Duotone lists 22–40 knots for the smallest wing and 8–16 knots for the largest, with overlapping ranges between them. Wingspan increases from 215 cm to 351 cm. Maximum pressure varies from 8 PSI on the 2.0, peaks at 9.5 PSI on the 3.5, and then reduces to 7.5 PSI on the 5.5. A medium 4-foot leash is recommended through 4.5, changing to the large 5-foot leash for 5.0 and 5.5.
