The 2026 Duotone Unit SLS Concept Blue is the alternative-material version of the Unit SLS, covering freeride, freestyle and wave riding with the same broad performance brief. Its construction combines an Aluula Gold L1 panel with undyed PentaTX in the leading edge and strut. Duotone positions the SLS models between the original Unit and the more specialised D/LAB construction, aiming to deliver lower weight and a more direct response without moving away from an accessible, multi-discipline design.
Balanced profile and power
The wing uses less profile depth in the centre and more at the quarter-span points. This distribution is intended to improve sheeting angles across the complete span, creating immediate power, a clear on-and-off response and better performance toward the top of the wind range. Duotone also associates the design with more efficient riding angles, helping the wing work across upwind and downwind courses rather than concentrating on a single discipline.
A deeper canopy at the quarter-span stabilises the wing while luffing and provides neutral to slightly positive lift when depowered. This gives the Unit SLS Concept Blue its freefly and wave capability while retaining the power and control required for freeride and freestyle. The compact outline is used across all ten sizes to support manoeuvrability, and a wider, stiffer leading-edge handle gives the rider more direct steering when surfing or holding the wing by its front handle.
SLS Concept Blue construction
The Aluula Gold L1 panel is selected for a high strength-to-weight ratio and a direct connection to rider input. On the Concept Blue version it is paired with undyed PentaTX, distinguishing the material treatment from the regular Unit SLS. The MOD3 S canopy completes the structure, with Duotone citing direct power transfer, strength and long-term durability. Together, these materials are intended to provide a lighter and stiffer frame than the original construction.
The wing accepts either Fusion handles or a Fusion boom, allowing the control layout to be matched to rider preference. Both systems are optional purchases and are not supplied with the wing. The 2.0 uses a small 72 cm boom and has no listed handle set; 2.5 and 3.0 take medium handles or an 84 cm boom. Sizes 3.5 through 6.5 use the large handles or 96 cm boom.
Sizes and specifications
Ten sizes cover 2.0 to 6.5 square metres. Duotone publishes a 27–45 knot wind range for the 2.0 and 7–18 knots for the 6.5, with closely overlapping ranges between those endpoints. Weight without handles or boom starts at 1.30 kg and reaches 2.61 kg. Wingspan increases from 211 cm to 382 cm, giving the range both compact high-wind options and larger wings for lighter conditions.
Maximum pressure is tailored by size: 11 PSI on the 2.0, stepping down through the range to 7 PSI on the 6.0 and 6.5. A medium 4-foot leash is recommended for sizes up to 4.5, while the 5.0 and larger use the large 5-foot version. These component and pressure specifications should be followed for the particular size rather than treated as universal across the range.
