There are few events in foiling that command as much respect as the Moloka‘i to Oahu Foil World Championships. The crossing of the Ka‘iwi Channel is the sport’s ultimate proving ground, attracting the world’s fastest and most accomplished downwind athletes for a race that has become the benchmark for ocean foiling. Whether you’re following friends, cheering on your favourite riders or simply want to witness the very highest level of the sport, this is one livestream you won’t want to miss. Grab a drink, settle in and join us as we bring you the action live.

When? Monday, July 20th, from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM HST (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM PT)

The Koa Kai Crown is the biggest series of downwind foil racing in the world. Five races in the series determine the overall champion. Race one is 12 miles along the South Coast of Oahu. This race has one of the most technically challenging section of water in the series, arguably the hardest in the whole of the M20.

The second race is Paddle Imua, 9 miles on the North Shore of Maui. Known for being one of the Hawaii’s most iconic downwind runs. A beautiful race for a beautiful cause with a huge community supporting Camp Imua.

Things start to get a little bit more serious in the third race, Maui to Moloka’i. 26 miles with the first inter-island crossing of the whole race week, crossing the Pailolo Channel. Fitness and knowledge come into play with this distance and technical crossing.

An awesome community event for the fourth race. 10 miles of fun, the Kamalo Downwind on the south coast of Moloka’i. A shorter race but enough time for some fine tuning and keeping the body in check for the final race.

To wrap this series up, the all famous Moloka‘i to Oahu (M20) crossing the Ka’iwi Channel. 40 miles of some of the most treacherous waters in Hawaii this race is testing and technical. Riders are to expect the unexpected and take it as it comes. This race is the most valuable of all the races, a lot at steak.

This is the Koa Kai Crown. Stay Tuned.
