Kai Lenny has been named a Top Three Nominee at this year’s Big Wave Awards alongside Jojo Roper and Lucas Chumbo, with Chumbo taking home Big Wave Surfer of the Year. Over the past season, Kai set himself a series of ambitious goals including paddling into Jaws on a 7’6”, dialing his flips, shaping the next generation of boards and fins, experimenting with flight on the wing, pushing limits on the foil, and even riding Jaws on a twin tip and wakeboard. He also leaned into switch surfing, both paddling and towing, and tested his endurance by riding seven different sports in a single day. For Kai, the recognition is an honor, but he says the real reward will always be in riding the waves.
