Armstrong Foils Foil Drive E-Foil Integrated Carbon Mast
The Foil Drive E-Foil Integrated Carbon Mast, a collaboration between Armstrong and Foil Drive, offers an exceptional foiling experience, allowing users to effortlessly navigate harbors and explore coastlines even on windless days. Its design reflects Armstrong's commitment to precision and performance, making it a high-quality option for both beginners and seasoned riders. One of the key features of this mast...
Armstrong Foils Foil Drive Foil Assist Integrated Carbon Mast
The Armstrong Foil Drive Foil Assist Integrated Carbon Mast represents a significant advancement in the world of powered foiling. This expertly crafted carbon mast is designed to minimize drag while delivering a fluid riding experience from initial takeoff to touchdown. For those new to the sport, the mast offers a forgiving lift that helps prevent sudden stalls when transitioning from...
Armstrong Foils Midlength Mk II X-Form
The mid-length revolution is well underway, and Armstrong’s new Midlength Mk II X-Form is a perfect example of why so many riders are moving away from ultra-compact sinker boards. Designed to bridge the gap between traditional wing boards and dedicated downwind shapes, it promises earlier take-offs, greater efficiency and impressive versatility across multiple foiling disciplines. Available in a huge range...
Armstrong Foils Performance Mk II Carbon Mast
While the Performance-X focuses on reducing drag and maximising glide, the Performance Mk II takes a different approach. This is Armstrong’s stiffest performance mast to date, designed for riders who demand the most direct possible connection between their feet and the foil beneath them. Like the Performance-X, the Mk II has been developed using a high-modulus carbon layup, but the...
Armstrong Foils Performance-X Carbon Mast
A mast might not be the most exciting component in a foil setup, but it’s arguably one of the most influential. While front wings tend to get all the attention, the mast determines how efficiently that wing can move through the water, and more importantly, how directly your inputs are transferred to the foil. If you’ve ever ridden a “bad”...
Armstrong Foils X-Wing Performance
Armstrong has never been a brand to chase trends for the sake of it. Products only tend to appear when the team believes they offer a genuine performance advantage, and the new X-Wing Performance is a perfect example of that philosophy. Sitting above the A-Wing XPS Mk II in the range, the X-Wing isn’t intended to replace Armstrong’s versatile all-round...
Armstrong Foils A-Wing XPS Mk II
It’s here - the highly anticipated A-Wing XPS Mk II has finally hit the shelves. After the success of the Mk1, it’s no surprise everyone has been dying to get a hold of these wings. In this review, we’ll let you know if it was worth the wait (spoiler alert - it was!). Armstrong claims it’s their most versatile wing...
Armstrong Foils Downwind Mk III
Following on from our review of the Ocean 95L last issue, we’ve got the 95L the Downwind Mk III to compare it with. As always with Armstrong, the finish is immaculate, and it arrived in a shiny new blue board bag, as standard. The Mk3 represents another step in the evolution of board design for foilers looking to advance their...
Armstrong Foils Downwind Ocean
Armstrong’s new Downwind Ocean range aims to refine everything riders loved about the original Downwind Performance series and package it into a sleeker, snappier, more agile board. I was pleased to be sent the smallest board in the line-up—7’8” (95L). It is 3 litres smaller and 6 inches shorter than its predecessor, the Performance 8’2. Where the Performance board relied...
Armstrong Foils MA Mk II Front Foil
The MA Mk II Front Foil represents the latest evolution in foiling technology, combining advanced design elements to elevate the user's performance on the water. This foil is specifically engineered to provide ultra-forgiving pitch stability, which significantly enhances the user’s experience regardless of skill level. The MA Mk II boasts an impressively broad speed range, allowing for seamless transitions whether...
Armstrong Foils MA Mk II Front Foil
When Armstrong announced the MA Mk2 was on the way, I was super keen to get my hands on it. The original MA series, particularly the MA800, were epic for winging in the waves (I was still using them until these arrived!); however, for our gutless waves on the South Coast of the UK, they lacked the pump & glide...
Armstrong Foils Noah Flegel Pro Board
The Noah Flegel Pro Board, co-developed by world champion Noah Flegel and Armstrong founder Armie Armstrong, presents a remarkable solution for both wake and tow foiling enthusiasts. This board is uniquely designed to maximize performance and ease of use, making it an attractive option for a wide range of riders—from beginners to advanced foilers. One of the most impressive features...

Issue 28
Sometimes the best adventures begin closer to home than you might think. Guy Bridge sets out on an ambitious downwind mission from his own doorstep, proving that with the right conditions, a bit of planning and plenty of determination, unforgettable journeys don’t always require a plane ticket.
Issue 28
Perhaps our biggest test section ever, and one of the reasons this issue took a little longer to get over the line. We put the latest wings from Armstrong, Cabrinha, Ozone and Starboard through their paces, alongside two of the hottest new parawings on the market: the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 and Power Pack. Jack Galloway also gets his downwind fix aboard the new Starboard MF foil, while we round things off with a look at Armstrong’s latest Performance masts.
Issue 27
Foiling is evolving faster than almost any other watersport on the planet. New disciplines appear almost yearly, gear continues to improve and riders are discovering entirely new ways to use wind and swell. But while the technology is moving quickly, the biggest shift in the sport may actually be who is getting involved. Former professional kiteboarder Sensi Graves has found herself at the centre of that change, not just as a passionate foiler, but as someone helping open the door for more women and newcomers through coaching, community events and her own journey balancing life on the water with motherhood.
Issue 27
For issue 27 of Tried and Tested, we have the new Armstrong UHA foils on test, plus the team put the latest ION Seek Select 5.5/4.5mm Hood Front Zip wetsuit through its paces in some freezing conditions. They were also testing the all-new Mystic Legacy Helmet and the Ride Engine Air Box Mini electric pump!
Issue 26
Jack Galloway is pumped on parawings this issue. Jack's a fantastic downwind foiler, whether that’s with a paddle, chipping in on a prone board or dock starting out to the bumps. The parawing is the latest tool in his box that’s allowing him even more time on the water, and helping with logistics, while also acting as a safety backup too! This is well worth a read if you are para-inclined, para-curious or para-sold…

When Armstrong Foils hosted its first Women’s Week in Tarifa, Olivia Sánchez joined a group of inspiring riders for a week of wind, waves, and connection. Between powerful Levante sessions and late-night laughter, she found more than just progression on the water; she found confidence, friendship, and a renewed sense of purpose. Issue 25
Foiling might look like effortless flight from the outside, but every glide hides a story of crashes, wipeouts, and stubborn persistence! In this editorial, Jack Galloway talks about the mindset that sets foilers apart: the willingness to sacrifice comfort, start from scratch again and again, and embrace the “walk of shame” in pursuit of progress.
Issue 25
Big air, big style, and no holding back: that’s Austin Tovey! Known for sending it in every discipline from wake to kite to tow foiling, Austin has now poured all that experience into designing his very own board with Armstrong. In this feature, he discusses the new Austin Tovey Pro Board, what sets it apart, and the mindset and mechanics behind the jaw-dropping tricks you see in his clips.

When Sensi Graves first considered starting a family, she fully understood how it might change the adventurous, wind-driven lifestyle she loved. But being fully committed to life outdoors, Sensi has proven it’s possible to chase wind, waves, and parenthood all at once.
