In early 2021, the Red Bull TV crew convinced Kolohe Andino to come to sit down with them and their cameras. They met him at a neutral location without giving many details about what they wanted to talk about. Despite the downtime on the WSL Championship Tour, Kolohe matured into a thoughtful, creative, dynamic surfer and human.
His newfound maturity was evident in his punctuality, style and distinct tone. He was enthusiastic. Earnest. Even charming and funny. Interested in chatting about life and surfing and the things that get him fired up. Not what we were expecting. A welcome surprise. Looking back, they caught him at a pivotal moment!
