The GWA Wingfoil World Tour welcomed a new addition to its calendar this year – the wave discipline. The tour scheduled three stops, with two already completed in Ponta Preta, Cape Verde, and Saquarema, Brazil. The final stop is set to take place in Dakhla, Morocco, during early autumn.
At the upcoming GWA Wingfoil World Cup Dakhla Presented by Armstrong Foils, the world champions will be crowned. Wesley Brito and Malo Gunol were crowned event winners in Cape Verde and Brazil, respectively, for the men’s side. Hugo Marin is currently leading the rankings, followed by Benot Carpentier and Brito.
Moona Whyte secured victory at the first event in Ponta Preta, while Nia Suardiaz won in Saquarema, earning her two world titles in other wingfoil disciplines this year. Both athletes are now tied in points and will compete for the world championship title at the final stop!
