Some shapes chase a trend. Others come from a vision of riding singular enough to carve out their own path. The Chipri Legacy belongs to that second lineage.
Chipri Courdes, AFS’s iconic ambassador, has always been a step ahead when it comes to board design and construction.
This model was built around the way he rode the foil: an offset approach, rail to rail, fluid and committed. Designed by Chipri Courdes and Laurent Borgna with the AFS Advanced R&D team, the development was driven with precision so that this vision of riding is now within reach of those who are after it.
The V1 was radical, demanding, built to serve a style beyond the standards. The Legacy takes that foundation and refines it with precision. It keeps everything that made the model so distinctive, while making the approach more consistent, more readable and easier to translate to your own riding.
This board isn’t only about lines, volumes or water flow. It carries something more human.
Chipri had a way of riding all his own: a quiet intensity, a committed fluidity, a rare power. On the water and off it, he left a lasting impression and marked everyone who crossed his path. In the workshop and within the team, he left a mark and we wanted to honor his memory.
The Legacy looks like him, in what it expresses as much as in what it gives you.
Those who knew him remember a radiant, humble, open guy, someone who built connections naturally everywhere he went. The artwork, entrusted in part to a tattoo artist who was close to him, quietly brings out the idea of mana, that calm, radiant strength that defined him.
