First came the logistics: stocking up on food on the mainland, a five-hour ferry ride, then a smaller boat to get us to the place we’d call home for the next few weeks. Of course, the ferry got canceled, so we ended up stranded in Padang for three extra days. When we finally arrived, the house was exactly what it looked like — a crumbling mansion swallowed by the jungle. It was eerie. It was chaotic. But somehow, from the second we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something unhinged in the best possible way.
“Horizons” follows four girls who meet on an island in Indonesia and, on a whim, decide to take on a last-minute mission to a remote, half-abandoned house deep in the Mentawai Islands. They had only known each other for a week. Different countries, different backgrounds, same instinct: say yes to everything. What starts as a spontaneous escape turns into a raw, wild journey about freedom, uncrowded waves, and the kind of connection that only happens when you leave comfort behind.
