The Mentawai revealed itself in a really unique way. We connected with the locals, spent time in the village, and got a real sense of the place beyond the waves. They showed us around, welcomed us in, and made us feel like we had a place there. Then we met the kids, and for the first time, the girls surfed on that island — a moment that made the whole trip feel even more special.
“Horizons” follows four girls who meet on an island in Indonesia and, on a whim, decide to take on a last-minute mission to a remote, half-abandoned house deep in the Mentawai Islands. They had only known each other for a week. Different countries, different backgrounds, same instinct: say yes to everything. What starts as a spontaneous escape turns into a raw, wild journey about freedom, uncrowded waves, and the kind of connection that only happens when you leave comfort behind.
