Starboard Coverage
Starboard MF 820
There aren’t many products that arrive with genuine race-winning credentials before they’ve even reached the wider market, but that’s exactly the case with the new Starboard MF range. Developed by Martin Fischer and Mathieu Durand using Starboard’s automated optimisation process, these wings had already made a strong impression before I ever got the chance to ride one. I was on...
Starboard Viva Wing
The wing market has become increasingly specialised over the past couple of years. There are wings built purely for racing, ultra-light models, high-tech models for pure performance, and, with deep pockets, dedicated wave and freestyle wings that demand as much from the rider as they give back. There is also the highly competitive all-rounder section of the market. The Starboard...
Starboard Pro Performance
The Pro Performance from Starboard sits neatly in the classic surf category within the brand's line-up. It’s a traditional shape with a modern twist and sits towards the larger end of the range of Pro Performance boards on offer this year. Regarding build and construction, this comes from Starboard’s factory in Thailand; these guys have been in the business of...

From shaping windsurf boards by hand to designing some of the most advanced hydrofoils on the market, Tiesda You has spent decades pushing the boundaries of board sports. We sit down with the head of Starboard Foils to explore the evolution of foil design, the role of modern engineering and where the sport is heading next.
Issue 28
Perhaps our biggest test section ever, and one of the reasons this issue took a little longer to get over the line. We put the latest wings from Armstrong, Cabrinha, Ozone and Starboard through their paces, alongside two of the hottest new parawings on the market: the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 and Power Pack. Jack Galloway also gets his downwind fix aboard the new Starboard MF foil, while we round things off with a look at Armstrong’s latest Performance masts.
Issue 21
The Molokai 2 Oahu (M2O) foil race, a 32-mile test of endurance and skill, showcased the best in foil design and athleticism once again this year. But amidst the excitement, a glaring disparity stood out: only five women competed compared to 89 men. While foiling continues to evolve and impress on the global stage, including at the Olympics, the gender gap in downwind events like M2O remains stark. This underrepresentation isn’t just a statistic for Jack Galloway—it’s a call to action. With a 5-year-old daughter looking up, he wonders why his sport lags and what can be done to level the playing field.
