With the worlds surfing eyes heading back to the Surf Ranch this weekend it is a great time to look back at what happens when you put the worlds best surfers into competition in even conditions.
Kelly Slater’s wave pool was home to the 2019 Freshwater Pro. With the randomness of the ocean removed, surfers had no excuses and nowhere to hide. They had to perform, on time, and under pressure. No wonder then it was surfing’s most pressure-resistant surfers, Gabriel Medina and Lakey Peterson, who came out on top.
