Paddling long distances on a Stand Up Paddleboard is a challenge. In this video Blue Planet talks about long distance racing, training, equipment, safety, preparation, pacing, cramping, pickle juice, and conditions.

Watch me narrate the experience every few miles. The wind was light but the conditions were surprisingly good for the first ⅔ of the race. Even though there was not much wind, conditions were nice with light wind and windswell left over from a week of wind. The last 8 miles or so started getting super tough with wind coming from the side and you can tell I’m really struggling at the end. The video does not show any actual paddling but should be helpful for anyone considering a long endurance paddle.
